The road
A straight airport road into town; to the West Bank the car crosses the Nile on the road bridge south of Luxor (there is no car ferry for this trip). Tourist-police checkpoints are routine.
Worth stopping
- ATMs and SIM cards in the arrivals hall — the driver waits.
- A pharmacy or supermarket on the way — just ask.
Good to know
